jaccok heeft totaal gelijk; dit klinkt als musicalmuziek. Niet echt iets wat Jessie J als single kan uitbrengen. Leuk dat ze eens wat anders probeert, maar het is niet geslaagd. Ik kon wel 3 sterren geven, maar dat doe ik niet, en waarom, is Nicki Minaj. Wat een overbodige rap zeg. Ariana Grande springt er bovenuit met haar mooie stem, maar haar stuk is niet wat ik noem speciaal. Ik zie hier niets catchys in.Ik hou bovendien niet van musical-achtige muziek, dus 3 sterren, net geen 4. Dit ligt nét op de grens van 3 en 4 sterren. Ik tik graag met mijn voeten mee als dit nummer voorbij komt, maar echt lekker vind ik het niet. Catchy is dit, maar op een manier die niet voor mij weggelegd is. Zoals ik al zei, dit doet me een klein beetje aan musicalmuziek denken, wat ook het probleem hiermee is. Toch mag dit nummer van mij hoog scoren en dat doet ie nu ook! Daarnaast zingen Jessie J en Ariana Grande echt geweldig, al is het live minder. Nicki Minaj is overbodig, maar het zorgt nu niet voor een punt aftrek. Edit 16/09/2014: Ik moest ontzettend wennen hieraan, maar nu vind ik hem leuk. Het is catchy, de zang is fantastisch (ook live, vooral Ariana Grande zingt de sterren van de hemel) en je kunt er goed met je voet op tikken. Has a decent retro feel to it, but it isn't doing anything amazing for me. None of the vocal performances stand out for me (unless you count Nicki Minaj feeling a bit out of place). I was unsure about the outcome of this given my current opinions on all three vary a lot (bad, good and hit-and-miss respectively), but the song itself is pretty well written mix of retro 60s pop and modern hip-hop without as much tokenism as that would imply, both singers are decent here, even if Ariana's voice is a cut above Jessie's, Nicki's verse feels surprisingly restrained and unengaging, which is a shame given her ability to bring extra-level momentum to already strong performances. Considering I have precious little time for any of the music of these women, I was expecting to really hate this, and initially I thought it was just a mess of noise. However the song itself (aside from Nicki's verse) is quite enjoyable with the old style chorus especially fun. It's just a shame that I really dislike the vocals of everyone involved. | |
Nou ja, van mij hoeft dit nummer niet afgeschoten te worden, maar een hit hoeft van mij ook weer niet. Ik snap ook niet wat dit sowieso in een hitlijst doet; het klinkt als een musicalliedje, vooral het refrein. Jessie J die weer eens een hele andere stijl ingaat, maar helaas niet erin slaagt. Ik wil dit nummer beoordelen met 'ontzettend catchy', maar ook gelijk met 'te vervelend voor woorden'. Vooral Nicki is het vervelende element en had van mij niet mee hoeven doen, maar Jessie J en Ariana zijn vocaal op hun paasbest en de rest van het nummer is niet te filmen hoe catchy. Dit was een serieuze kandidaat voor de Alarmschijf op Radio 538, maar het station gaat voor dat fucking 'Fireball' van die fucking Pitbull... Hopen dat 'Bang Bang' nog een hit wordt... There's just too much going on for me. Ariana's parts are decent, but Jessie's vocals are far too overpowering. The silver lining is that Nicki is oddly a shadow of her boisterous self, but the noisy chorus more than makes up for that. Not for me. 2.5 | |

Despite being fond of biscuits, I am severely not a fan of Miss Cornish. But this track is undeniably a bop so I can at least applaud the GP's decision to buy this track and promptly not buy her album as well. It's a retro-styled pop hit, but one that doesn't rely on the typical excess and showy instruments. The loudest things you hear are drums & claps. I also think that despite being seemingly tacked on towards the end, Nicki really is the star of this, delivering a quick-fire verse that's honestly quite refreshing. It also ended her drought of having zero #1 singles across Australia, the US & the UK, though only actually getting there in the latter. | |

An effective collaboration especially for fans of the artists. The chorus is clearly the stand out here. But overall, this doesn't have any exciting qualities for me and I find my mind wondering towards thoughts of what is the next song I am going to play. | |
First you have the worse-than-death-itself Jessie J and her annoying screeching, then you have Ariana Grande who is also not that likeable and has an annoying voice; and when you think the pain is finished here comes Nicki Minaj with her amateur Rap bullshit. Of course, Jessie J is the lead singer and yet she is the one who bites dust - even the mediocre and forgettable Minaj overshadows her in her own song, further proof that her desperation is pathetic, disgusting, etc and hopefully she will give up for good and fade away forever from the music scene as a distant and horrible memory of the early 2010's. | |
